Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the arts of performing (now called Maureen O'Hara), would have placed her in America's child prodigies list. For a young Irish girl with talented parents and a loving family, this was characteristic that was innate to her. Maureen joined this wonderful sanctuary within Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th of 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin-based company and was also an investor in the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen FitzSimons' first FitzSimons children. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara made up this family. Maureen was a natural athlete and enjoyed playing tough athletic games. She combined this interest with an equally natural aptitude of performing. That was evident that she had won all Feis for theatre and drama the Irish had to offer. At the age of 14, she was admitted into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of classical theater as well as operatic vocals.
