Tina Louise

Tina Tina Amanda AmandaMaureen did well at athletics and was fascinated by rough and athletic sports. Her passion for sports was matched by an equally natural talent for performing. She won almost all Feis Award in the field of Drama and Theater Performance the country could provide. At the age of 14, she was accepted into the famous Abbey Theater and pursued her aspirations of classical theatre as well as operatic singing. However, this plan was later modified, however, when Charles Laughton, after seeing an audition for a film of Maureen was captivated by her beautiful, captivating eyes. Before deciding to cast her in Jamaica Inn (1939), Laughton and his partner, Erich Pommer, changed her name from Maureen FitzSimons to "Maureen O'Hara" which was a little more concise name for the marquee. Maureen was contracted by Laughton for her upcoming movie in America with RKO Pictures (The Hunchback of Notre Notre Dame 1939). The epic film was an extraordinary success and her contract was taken over by Laughton by RKO. At 19, Maureen had already appeared in two motion-picture films in the company of Laughton.
